Planting magic
Our biggest project to date.
In 2024, we purchased 50 hectares of land in Putumayo, in the Colombian Amazon, as part of our land stewardship and medicinal plant preservation initiatives.
This project, called “Planting Magic” is a multi-faceted, long-term vision through which we plan to fulfill various important elements of our foundation’s mission.
Elders’ Fund
Honoring Elders, Restoring Dignity
At the core of our focus this year is caring for our elders. We are supporting various Grandfathers and Grandmothers to improve their quality of life so that they are able to continue sharing their wisdom and teachings with the world. Through initiatives like building safe homes, providing medical care, and various cultural infrastructure projects, we honor their journeys and ensure that their voices — and the ancestral knowledge they carry — continue to thrive for generations to come.

One of the last living elders and guardians of the Cofen tradition, Taita Ediberto is a masterful healer and grandfather who has spent his entire life in service to the healing of humanity.
Yet his living conditions are inhumane.
Last year we helped build him a better house. This year, we are continuing with various renovations, improving his access to clean water, buying him new appliances such as a refrigerator, and installing some solar panels so that he can have internet (he lives 3 hours away from the closest town by boat and it is important in case of an emergency that he is able to call for help quickly).

Abuelo Albertino has been a tremendous source of spiritual strength and healing to Taita Juanito and to our entire community.
This year, we are building a safe, accessible home for Taita Albertino.
This project will provide this 80 year old wisdom carrier with a culturally respectful, fully adapted rural home, ensuring he has access to basic services, medical care, and a dignified quality of life. With a 98m² design including accessible rooms, a safe bathroom, and natural ventilation, the home represents not just shelter — but respect, protection, and belonging.

Our beloved Grandmother from the Huitoto Tribe, Abuela Muydokuri is a beacon of strength for hundreds of women.
She is a traditional midwife, healer, and lineage carrier.
We are still investigating how we can best support her, but we would like to offer her some sort of economic aid this year to further her ability to serve both the people of her territory as well as women from our community and other parts of the world.

2025 Health Brigade
Healing Roots, Strengthening Communities
Strengthen traditional medicine practices by collaborating directly with indigenous healers and leaders.
Offer natural, non-invasive treatments including herbal remedies, ozonotherapy, purgatives, and vitamin supplements.
Promote disease prevention and empower communities with health education based on both ancestral wisdom and modern medicine.
Foster deeper intercultural exchange and health sovereignty among indigenous peoples.
This will be the fourth year that we continue with our successful health brigades, bringing culturally relevant healthcare to indigenous communities in Putumayo, Colombia. In collaboration with the Inga, Kamëntsá, and Siona indigenous leadership and traditional healers, we have serviced over 2000 indigenous peoples since inception.
Our brigades provide intercultural health services that combine natural medicine, preventive care, and ancestral wisdom.
This year, we will serve another 400 people.
The services provided include IV Vitamin Therapy, Ozone Therapy, Traditional Herbal Consultations, Spiritual Cleansings (Limpias), Health Screenings, Wellness Education, and the distribution of traditional botanical remedies. Our goal is to empower communities with tools for lasting wellness while strengthening indigenous health sovereignty.
The 2025 Health Brigade is currently fully funded.

In the remote territories of Colombia, Indigenous communities are often left without access to critical services — abandoned in times of urgent need by the systems meant to protect them. Magic Fund’s Emergency Relief Fund exists to bridge that gap, providing rapid, life-saving support when emergencies threaten the survival of Indigenous individuals and families.
Through this fund, we respond to urgent crises — from medical emergencies and housing insecurity to situations requiring immediate humanitarian aid. Our focus is to uphold the dignity and sovereignty of Indigenous peoples by ensuring they receive the care and support they are too often denied.
We are currently supporting José Arley Garreta Macuace, a young Indigenous man who, after a devastating motorcycle accident, was left critically injured without access to specialized medical care. Thanks to the Emergency Relief Fund, José is receiving the medical attention, rehabilitation, and support necessary for his recovery. The support that José needs is extensive, including ongoing clinical evaluations, hospitalization, follow-ups, medications, nutrition, basic living needs, physical therapy, and psychological support. We look forward to accompanying him in restoring hope for his future.

Economic Sovereignty Fund
The Economic Sovereignty Fund is a vital initiative that supports entrepreneurial projects and regenerative economic development within Indigenous communities of the Colombian Amazon.
By funding various grassroots projects each year, this fund empowers communities to reclaim autonomy over their livelihoods, preserve ancestral knowledge, and create sustainable income streams rooted in cultural heritage.
Economic empowerment in these territories means more than financial stability—it represents resilience, dignity, and the ability to thrive without dependence on external systems that have historically marginalized them. Through this fund, we help seed long-term solutions that honor tradition while building pathways toward collective sovereignty and self-determination.
Currently, we are proudly supporting the Siona Association of Women in their cane sugar production business venture. We have one or two very special projects in the pipeline for the remainder of 2024.
The Siona Association of Women is a collective dedicated to preserving ancestral farming traditions and revitalizing their cultural heritage through the production of cane sugar and botanical products such as natural shampoos, soaps, and essences made from medicinal plants. Their work also includes seed preservation and the integration of traditional weaving and ancestral art techniques.
Since its inception with 18 members, the association has grown to include over 50 Siona women, reflecting the growing momentum of this grassroots initiative. In 2024, they expanded their sugarcane cultivation with the goal of producing and commercializing panela, a traditional form of raw cane sugar.
Under the spiritual guidance of Taita Pedro and his wife Angie, the women continue to build a model of self-sustaining economic development rooted in cultural identity. To scale their impact, they are seeking financial support to acquire processing equipment, secure licenses for their botanical product line, and further expand their reach. We are proud to support this powerful movement toward economic sovereignty within the Siona Nation.
