Reciprocity + Regeneration = Magic!
Follow our journey of reforesting 113 acres of land in the Amazon Rainforest by cultivating yagé and other medicinal plant species.
With the globalization of plant medicines in the last decade, comes a significant risk to the future of medicinal and visionary plants. As interest grows, the pressure on the ecosystems where these plants are cultivated grows as well. This has led to overharvesting, under-cultivation, and lack of regulation. Without immediate action, these gifts from nature that we believe hold the key to humanity’s healing may face threats of harmful monetization and possible extinction.
In 2022, the vision for our biggest project ever was born, our land stewardship initiative called, “Planting Magic”. Planting Magic is a multi-faceted project which aims to address the issues mentioned above by focusing on medicinal plant cultivation and land restoration, ensuring the survival of these vital healing traditions. In 2024, we purchased 46 hectares (113 acres) of land in Putumayo, Colombia. We are currently in Phase 1 of the 3-Phase project.
Phase I
Planning + Planting
2025 & 2026
Work with local botanists and farmers who specialize in regenerative agriculture and permaculture to design a comprehensive design and plan for the 46 hectare property (IN PROGRESS)
Plant first 10 hectares of Yagé (COMPLETED)
Build our nursery and seed library (SUMMER 2025)
Plant additional 10 hectares of native medicinal tree species and medicinal plants (SUMMER 2025)
Build medicinal laboratory where the botanical medicine will be processed (2026)
Additional planting pendent on design completion (ONGOING)
Clearly define and formalize our plan of the sharing of these medicines. We have many beautiful ideas of what to do with the medicines we will be growing.
They include:
i) Gifting yagé and sponsoring ceremonies in Putumayo for local indigenous people to drink and receive the healing of their culture with an established and authorized Taita (healer) of the region.
ii) Utilizing the medicine grown to open up scholarships within the organization of Ambiwasi for people who otherwise would not be able to afford coming to a retreat, focusing on veterans, people of color, and low-income individuals from all over the world. Stakeholders in the project will be kept thoroughly updated in the process of the cultivation. We expect to have a detailed plan of action before we enter Phase II.

Plant the Yagé Leaves which take less time to mature than the vine
Hire local community members to learn from Taita Juanito and other Indigenous botanists and begin training them on how to make the botanical tinctures and plant elixirs. These medicines will allow us to service more people in our bi-annual health brigades in the region.
Continue caring for the land, maintenance of the farm and crops.

The Planting Magic Album
To raise awareness and support for this incredible vision, we created our first ever album by Grupo Ambiwasi.
Co-produced by Ajeet & Peia Luzzi, this special project is an invitation into our deepest prayers for the culture of Yagé.
Musicians of our community came together to offer their music and hearts to this prayer. Funds generated through this album go to support the land stewardship initiative and ongoing maintenance over the coming years!
The album launches on June 20th!
