Our Story

Spearheaded by Taita Juanito and our team of highly dedicated pathwalkers and students, Magic Fund was founded in 2017 as a vehicle through which we could fulfill our mission as it relates to the preservation and protection of the culture of Yagé.

Taita Juanito is an Ingano Medicine Doctor and Botanist, whose personal mission is to share the healing power of his culture with the world. With this great undertaking, it became very clear that in order for him and his supporters to be able to do this, it was imperative to care for the roots of the tradition, leading us back to the land and the original carriers of the Yagé.

Magic Fund’s primary region of focus is Putumayo, Colombia.

We work closely with the Inga, Siona, Huitoto, Coreguaje, Camsa, and Cofan tribes. Listening to the needs of the tribes, Taita Juanito serves as a liaison to bring forth proposed initiatives to the Magic Fund Board. Together, we develop, fund, and implement projects that prioritize meaningful, long-term impact to the communities.
